The non-governmental organization behind National Education And Buddhist Teaching Primary School Lamjure, Phulasi -14 Ramechhap. Vision Nepal was established in Nepal in 2013.
The team behind Vision Nepal has been working for years on social causes affecting Nepal. We are a rights-based, results-oriented team of young people coming from varied socioeconomic backgrounds, all wishing to demonstrate the concern of Nepali Children’s and youth about social and development issues.
We recognize that school fees are one of the biggest barriers in the expansion of access to quality education in Nepal. Poverty imposes a tough choice on families about whether or not to send their children to school. Even if they are sent, how long will the children get to stay in the classroom?
Our mission is to contribute to creating fair and just opportunities for the children and teens of marginalized and disadvantaged communities and families. We also strive to develop their abilities and capacities to the fullest extent, enabling them to live dignified lives in society and encouraging them to be creative, self-confident leaders. Our main focus is giving children the access to their rights and providing a peaceful environment for quality education.
This generation represents the future of Nepal. We want to see them given the opportunity to be capable and confident, and to have control over the factors affecting their lives and their families’ lives. We provide access to holistic education, health services, recreation, personal and life skills development, and a safe home, free from the abuse and exploitation that many of these children have faced. We firmly believe that a family’s income should not be the barrier to their child’s education level or type of education. Education is meant for all!
Vision Nepal founded National Education & Buddhist Teaching Primary School 2009. Our school caters to children who come from economically challenged families, children with single parents, and children of migrant workers. National Education And Buddhist Teaching Primary School plays a vital role in connecting the gap between these families and their children’s right to education. We believe that every child should be able to access quality education, regardless of their socioeconomic status.
We take pride in our “out of the box” curriculum that encourages our children to explore, create and learn from their environment. Unlike most schools in our region, we encourage critical thinking, creativity, and self-expression. We teach our kids how to think instead of what to think. We encourage them to be the best versions of themselves and guide them as they grow into confident leaders.
Our dream is to build our own school, away from the treacherous costs of rented land, for a safe and sustainable home. We want to provide the best environment for our children to learn about themselves, the world, and their opportunities in life. Our macro-level plan is spread our vision to government schools in Nepal, helping them cater to children who are in dire need of participatory education and redesigning rote curricula into more holistic education systems.
We are building our new school now, and you can help make our dream into reality! Check out our donors’ store to personalize a contribution, or give an unspecified gift on our donate page. We keep you in the loop to show you exactly how your impact grows in Nepal.
